What Focal collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to exercise your rights over it.
Who we are
Focal is the data fiduciary for information collected through focaltool.com. Write to grievance@focaltool.com to reach the people accountable for it, or to ask who they are.
Account data
Your name, your email address, and a hash of your password. We never store the password itself, and session records hold only a hash of the session token, so a database leak does not expose live sessions.
Billing data
Card and bank details are handled entirely by Dodo Payments and never reach our systems. We retain the subscription status, the plan, and the transaction reference needed to bill and support the account.
Your images
Focal fetches images from your origin to transform and deliver them. For that content you are the controller and we act on your instructions. We hold transformed derivatives in cache for delivery, do not inspect or index them, and do not use them to train anything.
Operational logs
Request logs covering path, timing, response size and cache outcome, used to run the service, measure bandwidth for fair use, and investigate abuse.
Cookies and analytics
One cookie, which keeps you signed in. No analytics, no advertising trackers, no cross-site profiling. Our host keeps standard request logs for security.
Processors we use
Cloudflare for hosting, delivery and the database; Lark for mail; Dodo Payments for payments. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Retention
Account data until you delete the account. Invoice records for 8 years, as Indian tax law requires. Operational logs for 7 days. Cached derivatives until purged or expired.
Your rights and grievances
Access, correction, erasure and withdrawal of consent by writing to grievance@focaltool.com. Grievance Officer: Vijay Athbhaiya, at the same address. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 7 days. The full procedure is on the Grievances page.
